Eye Care Specialists Clinic

West Allis, WI

This redevelopment project transformed a former Bakers Square restaurant and adjacent pie baking facility into a modern outpatient clinic for Eye Care Specialists. The design preserved the original shell and core structure of the baking facility, integrating an 8,800 square foot addition to create 13,500 square feet of medical space. A key structural element included the installation of HSS columns within the existing wall to support the main entrance canopy.

Waukesha Parade Memorial

Waukesha, WI

This two part memorial project is dedicated to those who were affected by the tragedy at the Waukesha Christmas Parade on November 21st, 2021. The Main Street Parade Memorial stands as a marker near where this tragedy occurred, while the Parade Memorial at Grede Park stands as a tribute to lives lost, those injured, and everyone who was impacted. At the center of the Grede Park memorial, six interwoven ribbons form a heart - each ribbon symbolizing a life lost. Individual plaques accompany the design, commemorating each victim. The memorial honors the memory of all those affected by the tragedy, and stands as a symbol of community resilience.

Marquette University - Chapel of the Holy Family

Milwaukee, WI

This project looked to renovate the Chapel of the Holy Family, nestled within Marquette University’s Alumni Memorial Union. The design introduced expansive windows and a distinctive eye-shaped skylight, flooding the sacred space with abundant natural light and a renewed sense of openness and serenity.

“Willow” is a dynamic, mixed-use development that spans over 200,000 square feet - offering a blend of residential, commercial, and lifestyle spaces. The space features 108 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, underground parking, and a range of amenities for residents to enjoy including office, retail, and entertainment spaces. Business tenants include a variety of services, ranging from florists to fine jewelry.

Notre Dame De Pere

De Pere, WI

This 90,000 square-foot, 3-story building provides ample space for De Pere's students from pre-K through 8th grade. Key features include a large glass entry atrium and an elevated glass "box" in the northwest corner containing the library and art room. This project was designed to maximize the learning space for the students, and also allow for cross-classroom collaboration and instruction.

Egg Harbor Lodge II

Egg Harbor, WI

Perched above Egg Harbor, a renowned vacation destination within Wisconsin’s popular Door County Peninsula, stands the award-winning Egg Harbor Lodge II. The contemporary style complements the aesthetic of the 2018 Egg Harbor project while offering larger three-bedroom units for bigger families and travel parties. Each unit contains a cozy living room, dining room and kitchen area, and sleeping arrangements to accommodate up to 8 guests per unit. The units each have expansive glass doors that open onto private backyard patios, offering comfortable outdoor sanctuaries to enjoy the historic charm of this Wisconsin setting in modern-day comfort.

Villa Street Art Museum

RACINE, WI

The Villa Street Art Museum is a 2,580 square foot two story wood framed structure with long slender cantilevers at the second floor and the roof to accentuate the building as an art form. Coordination between the Architect and Engineer allows the glass façade of the second floor and the steel/wood roof system to give the appearance of a floating roof.

North Avenue Market

Milwaukee, WI

This community-oriented space caters to local area residents and Milwaukee tourists alike, occupying what used to be an Associated Bank. The top floor of North Avenue Market includes multiple vendor stations for serving a variety of food and beverages, Bittercube Bar, and various casual lounge seating for guests. The lower floor includes a “speakeasy style” cocktail bar in the old bank vault, various conference rooms and gathering spaces, and a few more vendor stations.

Marquette University - Physicians Assistant Studies Building

Milwaukee, WI

This 42,000 square foot, 4-story building was designed to serve the expanding needs of Marquette University’s high-demand Physician’s Assistant program. This building includes office spaces, large amphitheater-style classrooms, conference rooms, locker/shower areas, student and faculty lounges, and simulation rooms for OR, Trauma, Examination, ICU, and Inpatient services. The front of the building uses cantilevered elements to support the heavy exterior brick creating an eye-catching front entryway.

Cedarburg High School

Cedarburg, WI

This 68,000 square foot, 2-story project created 9 new classroom spaces as well as a new art room, cafeteria, storage area, and main entrance for the High School. Students can find a new wood, metals, transportation, and robotics lab as part of this addition, and more space was also created for the front offices, kitchen, and district offices.

Stone Creek Coffee - Downer Ave

MILWAUKEE, WI

Previously a bank, Stone Creek Coffee on Downer Avenue has modernized this 2,200 square foot, early 1900s building in order to breathe some new life into the Northpoint Neighborhood. Visitors can seat themselves outside under a large outdoor-patio, inside through windowed garage-doors that lift into a three-season patio, or head over to the walk-up window for a quick stop on their way.

The Flats on Church Street (Door County)

Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

These four 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartments feature large sliding glass doors that open up to a private patio. With a contemporary design, visitors are treated to modern accommodations in the historic Door County setting.

Spring Harbor House

Madison, WI

This project occupies an oddly shaped, steeply sloped lot close to downtown Madison. The home is comprised of three “boxes” that sit atop a concrete podium - the largest of which ends in a cantilever over the edge of this podium to draw attention to the steep slope of the lot.

Block 27

Sacramento, CA

Sitting on a lot that lies between a dense residential district to the south and an industrial district to the north, this four-unit apartment building takes cues from both to create a unique transitional point between the two distinct styles of building design. The four 2-3 bedroom apartment units share a rooftop terrace on the third floor overlooking the cityscape to the east, as well as a bike/scooter parking area on the first level of the building facing the street.

Curtain House

Milwaukee, WI

This private residence sits on a long, narrow lot in Milwaukee’s Lower East side. The 3-level design makes full use of the small infill space with a full Master Suite, 3 other bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and dining area, a garage, a terrace, and a small balcony that offers a view of the Milwaukee River. The street facing side of the building uses slats to provide privacy to residents and control the amount of light entering the building, while also giving the front of the building an contemporary façade that stands out from the antiquated homes it sits between.

Poplar Hall

Appleton, WI

This over 8,000 square foot project created a multi-use venue for a variety of events from weddings to concerts! The two story design features sloped roof cantilevers, floor to ceiling windows along the back that offer a beautiful view of the Fox River, and cross-laminated timber (CLT) floor panels to create a wrap-around mezzanine within the main space. The project also includes a stage, two bar areas, storage space, prep room, and coat room located near the entryway.

The Griot Apartments

Milwaukee, WI

Multi-story wood apartment building sits atop steel beams and columns which provide large expansive spaces for America’s Black Holocaust Museum below. This new building will anchor a prominent corner in the Bronzeville neighborhood and encourage further redevelopment in the area.

FOX POINT, WI

This private residence  is nestled in a wooded site along the shores of Lake Michigan.   Combining engineered wood construction with concrete and masonry veneer was the challenge in supporting the floating observatory with spectacular views over the surrounding landscape.
